The GSMST Chorus program has two performing ensembles led by director Mrs. Laurie C. Duke: Mixed Chorus and the Advanced Treble Chorus. The Chorus program provides participating students with a range of musical experiences.
The GSMST Treble Chorus is the first auditioned ensemble of our Choral program and will consist of a select group of treble voices (soprano and alto). Audition for this ensemble does not guarantee placement in the class. Auditions are not required for the Mixed Chorus. *Rising Freshmen auditions will take place Saturday April 22, 2017. A specific audition schedule will be sent out no later than April 14, 2017.
*GSMST students not currently in Chorus will be scheduled for auditions after school April 18 & 19. Check your GSMST email for specifics.
*GSMST Chorus students will audition in class on April 21.
1. Scale: Sing up and down a Major Scale (Starting Pitch: Soprano F4; Alto C4)
2. Solo ‐ The Ash Grove: The solo is to be performed A Capella (the starting pitch for the solo will be given).

The practice track tempo is at 92 bmp. This is only a suggested tempo for practice purposes and not required the day of auditions.
3. Sight Reading: Students will attempt a single four measure sight singing example after establishing tonality and two minutes of vocalized study. Students may use the sight reading method of their choice (solfege, numbers, etc.)
